A Message from Susan Garskey, President of The Needlework Guild of Canada, Toronto Branch

2018 has been a relatively quiet year, but as change is always a constant, we welcomed Carole Pixley as the new Distribution Day Chair. As usual Distribution Day was a success and many citizens of Toronto were the happy recipients of the beautiful garments, quilts, layettes, and lap blankets so many of you spent the winter crafting.

As you will note from the above statistics, our membership is a little smaller than last year, yet your financial donations are almost the same. We do need to encourage our friends to contribute to this worthwhile organization.

At this time, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Patrick Allen, CMA, who has reviewed our financial statements for the last several years. Patrick has decided that it is now time to retire and we wish him well. We are pleased to inform you that we have a new individual ready to step into Patrick’s shoes and that is Ms. Ann Parr, CMA.

Our thanks are again extended to Yorkminster Park Baptist Church for all the assistance they have given us over the past years, to the Dorcas Group who provide us with treats and coffee at Distribution Day and our Annual General Meeting. Finally, I must thank all the Board Members who have worked so diligently for us this past year.

Respectfully submitted,

Sue Garskey, President
